  1. Hi Micahel,

Another cracking show. Sorry my mind was on firewall documentation when you mentioned the tune you were playing in the background during the news, (~8mins in) what was it? It sounds a bit like (but I know it isn’t) Ice Turns into Water by It Bites.

I had a reply from Tony Wright (tony@laikadog.co.uk), formerly of Terrorvision and he was wondering if you’d like to check our Laika Dog? http://www.laikadog.co.uk I can’t really mention them without of course mentioning Mailbu Stacey also (Like Laika dog they have former member(s) of TV in the band) http://www.mailbustacey.co.uk If you like Terrorvision, try these two!

    Phil

  2. Hey Phil,

That was L.O.V.E. from the new Ginger record in the background. I will check out Laika Dog and Malibu Stacey.
    Thanks for the tip!

    michael

  3. Dude, thanks so much for playing the AmigoFish promo. I really appreciate that. The editorializing was funny, and you are correct. I really do want you to have an internet that is safe at any speed.

  4. ooh! looking forward to the upcoming ‘Driving With Butler’ segment. always enjoyed them…. and, hey Michael, weren’t you like the first podcaster to doing a driving ‘cast?
hehee, even though it wasn’t driving but boating, anybody remember that great ‘Ferrying With Butler’ that Michael did when American Heartbreak was on European tour? speaking of AH… good tune finishing the show (i didn’t stick around for that last audio segment after AH song 😉 )

and, thanks for the ‘Learning To Read With Butler’… i always like those 😀

  5. eeewwww, yes, Annie! i do remember that Peekshow With Butler ‘cast… freaked me out to hear Michael talk about sitting in jizz-soaked booth with sticky floor….. aarrrgghhhhhh!!

  6. He did a “Driving with Butler” even earlier than that! I think it was when he went through Berkeley? Killer music once again.

    Jeff

  7. ahaha Jeff you lost ! the first driving was “going back home” after work ( wiht the gling gling of the paining pots : don’t you regret this noise in the evening Mike ?) and a stop to the hairdresser (before playing an A.H show), with a wonderful sunset in the bay, and the homeless people sleeping in their cars, isn’it Mike ?
a very nice side of the podcasting to excite the listeners’ imagination : the pictures stay a long time in the memory, maybe the whole life…

  8. Annie your right I forgot about that one. Oh to the early days of podcasting when the show was young. Thanks Annie.

  9. of course, i remember the earliest Driving With Butler shows…. i’m pretty sure Michael was doing the so-called ‘soundseeing’ thing before anybody else. the Ferrying With Butler was later when AH were on European Tour and playing the Scandanavia leg of their tour.
*sigh* yup, i’m right with ya, Jeff & Annie…. aaaahhhh, to the good ol’ days….. long may they be remembered!

    🙂

  10. The Podcasting landscape has changed in such a short period of time we all predicted it. There was a period in the early days when I had access to every kick ass podcaster and we all worked together.
You could arrange things in minutes and everyone would be happy to help.

Well, that period has passed because money is part of the equation. How many people in Podcasting earn enough to stop their day job?
Michael Butler still has a day job at Podshow.

Todd GNC still has a day job.
The truth of the matter is the money is not there yet. The only way to make money out of podcasting is to branch out from Podcasting.
Annie from Meltingpod is doing that now.

Podcasting does give you a voice and it allows access for the door to open. It is all up to you what you do when you enter that room of opportunity. Or in Butler’s case a peepshow room standing in Jizz all for the love of his show. That is dedication for you.
Now I can step of my soap box, your turn Dave Slusher. Keep sticking it Dave!

  11. Ah, it’s pleasant this little group : we have to plan a RnRgs’ geeks’ meeting…where ?…in Marseille ?
Hey Shane, what do you think about me branching out from podcasting ?…porncasting ?
take care or I spread our others recordings in Cannes on Meltingpod…ahaha
