My new favorite TV show to goof on is Rock Star INXS.

15 posers competing for a chance to sing in INXS. I heard this show was originally supposed to be with the guys from Velvet Revolver when they were looking for a singer. All 15 of these contestants are so desperate for the job, it is hilarious. Not to mention, the show is hosted by one of rock’s biggest posers, Dave Navarro.

  1. Hello Donna,

Michael Hutchence is sadly missed in Australia.
He was a great performer, he really did own the stage. I look forward to watching the INXS tv show.

  2. heya Tim 🙂

i’m a huge fan of INXS, myself. i saw INXS in the mid-80’s when they played some gigs at a small, but popular, club in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, USA. i’m not sure, but i think it might have been one of INXS’s first major tours of the USA.
wow, talk about rocking the house…
there was something incredibly and indescribably charismatic and mesmerizing about Michael Hutchence. he exuded not only sexuality but also sensuality and the man had a voice that seem to know no range and was beyond emotion. gawddam, if he didn’t have every woman in the house wanting him baaad and the men didn’t care cos they seemed to be in awe of the power Michael poured forth from stage. i feel privileged to have experienced INXS live in a small and intimate club.
i truly mean it when i say i miss Michael Hutchence. a great musical talent and performer was taken from us when he left this world. when i think of all the great guitar gods together jammin’ at the great-gig-in-the-sky i always imagine Michael fronting that band.
He collaborated in writing some pretty powerful songs, too…. the lyrics are just as strong as the tunes…

    “The Stairs”

In a room above a busy street
    The echoes of a life
    The fragments and the accidents
    Separated by incidents
    Listened to by the walls

    We share the same spaces
    Repeated in the corridors
    Performing the same movements
    Storey to storey,
    Building to building,
    Street to street,
We pass each other on the stairs

    Storey to storey,
    Building to building,
    Street to street,
We pass each other on the stairs
    Listened to by the walls
    We share the same spaces
    Repeated in the corridors
    Performing the same movements

    The nature of your tragedy
    Is chained around your neck
Do you lead or are you led
Are you sure that you don’t care
There are reasons here to give your life
    And follow in your way
The passion lives to keep your faith
Though all are different, all are great
    Climbing as we fall
We dare to hold on to our fate
    And steal away our destiny
To catch ourselves with quiet grace

    Storey to storey,
    Building to building,
    Street to street,
We pass each other on the stairs
    Listened to by the walls
    We share the same spaces
    Repeated in the corridors
    Performing the same movements
    Storey to storey,
    Building to building,
    Street to street,
We pass each other on the stairs

  3. Dude you are so right. I watched the second episode and just felt sorry for the remaining members of INXS. How the mightly have fallen.
The funniest for me was the country chick singing “New Sensation” in the maternity top. So sad.

  4. hey Mike,

Aprill had approached me about this INXS deal a year ago August but I told her it’s almost as sacriligious as that creep who filled in for The Lords..;)

    UFO’s here this week

  5. Hey Donna, Mike, Tim and Adam !
I found this interesting text about Michael Hutchence on the internet when I was looking for info about Chris Bailey of the Saints a few weeks ago :
    http://www.michaelhutchenceinfo.com/JAM_chapter6.htm
I liked a lot INXS and it was not really possible for me as girl to avoid the terrible charm of Michael…
“Chris and his wife, Pearl and Michael and Michele became inseparable. ”
It was strange for me to read Chris Bailey of the Saints and him were closed friends and met each other in Michael’s house in South of France…I can better undertstand that now. Hey Donna, go to listen to my interview of Chris.

  6. Who are the losers? You sit her an wax about a dead lead singer or a marginal rock band from the 80’s. Move on…

BTW do you know why there aren’t any gingerbread women?

Their all in the Gingerbread house where they belong.
