  1. While it’s always enjoyable to listen to Michael as interviewer and Aron is always a great guest with interesting experiences and insights, what the hell does Weezer, (a big label band) and their tour and appearance on Stern’s Radio show have to do with Indie music?
Is it that the RnRGS is changing direction… changing agenda… from it’s original roots & purpose? or was it simple an oversight to post this interview under the heading and audio intro of ‘Rock and Roll Geek Indie Cast’?
I was going to keep my thoughts to myself (the incongruity might seem like a trivia observation), but as a long time listener and fan of the original Rock and Roll Geek Show, i’m curious about the direction i see the show going.

  2. No change in direction. I have a Nazareth interview in the can and am doing a Starz special on Sunday. I want to do an indiecast every Wed. and this was the only way to get a Weezer update posted in a timely fashion.

  3. I personally think the r&r geek show is better than the top three that michael listed. I’m looking foreward to that stars special. I got the coliseum rock cd and it is great. Thanks for introducing me to that band. I can’t believe that I never heard of them. Were they more famous regionally?

  4. aha, Michael. thought maybe the RnRGS was slowly morphing into the ‘Indie Cast’ moniker for some business-related reason or sumthin’…
looking forward to the Nazareth interview! they were a big fav of mine during the ’70’s. burned through many 8-track tapes listening to them. hehee, they were primarily responsible for making the cowbell a bona fide instrument of rock bands, weren’t they? 😀

  5. I know I am part of Podshow but I am still going to do what I want on the RnR Geek Show. No one is making me do anything. A preview of the Nazareth interview: My guitarist, Billy Rowe, and I went onto the tour bus and we asked the most geeked out questions. They were having a great time talking to us. It was quite obvious. We had more Nazareth knowledge than probably anyone they have done interviews with lately. Stay tuned for the part when I break out the ipod and compare a current hit song with a Nazareth hit song. The similarities are quite obvious.

  6. 🙂 i’m staying tuned! musta been great to interview Nazareth on their tourbus. i’m sooooo envious, Michael!

  7. I can’t wait to hear the Nazareth interview.
