The Butlers Deliver<\/p>\n

A packed North Beach venue played host to conglomerated local rock gods \u00e2\u20ac\u0153 The Butlers\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Saturday night, turning the largely female crowd into a swirling frenzy. Relying on tried and true hard rock\/ metal favorites ranging from Rose Tattoo to Angel City, front man Graham Shaw (Immigrant) belted out a string of crowd pleasers with certified rock swagger style. The Butlers, founded by local Bay Area legends Billy Rowe (Jetboy) and Craig Behrhorst (Ruffians) ripped through their personal hard rockin\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 favorites to the delight of the festive crowd. <\/p>\n

Anchored by hard-hitting Bonhamesque stickman Erik Lannon (Mordred) and rhythm master Casey Crenshaw (American Heartbeat) The Butlers accommodate the crowd\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s thirst for \u00e2\u20ac\u0153 the day \u00e2\u20ac\u0153 by taking the revelers through the hard rock\/ metal years with insight and panache. Playing at a volume heartwarming to those understanding the genre, the band hit all the right notes for the appreciative fans. Bassist Mike Butler (Exodus), notable for his puritan style and raucous chops, bolstered the bottom with appropriately intense groove and flow. Vocalist Shaw was flawless with his versions and consistently charmed the headbanging ladies in the house. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Another thing about these guys\u00e2\u20ac\u009d chimed in local photographer Terry Flynn\u00e2\u20ac\u009d They bring out all the beautiful people\u00e2\u20ac\u009d <\/p>\n

. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153 We love doing this cover stuff \u00e2\u20ac\u0153 quipped guitarist Rowe, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153 It gives us a chance to hang out with a lot of friends, old and new- We\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re not out to impress or make a million- We\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re just here to kick out the jam \u00e2\u20ac\u0153 Highlights of the set included Aerosmith\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s version of \u00e2\u20ac\u0153 Walkin the Dog\u00e2\u20ac\u009d, Angel City\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s \u00e2\u20ac\u0153 Marseilles\u00e2\u20ac\u009d as well as a guest AC \/ DC background vocal by Turmoil from metal old schoolers Mad Reign. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153 These guys are the best at this party band stuff\u00e2\u20ac\u009d shouted Turmoil after the set, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153They have the heart for the material, them being real survivors and all \u00e2\u20ac\u02dc <\/p>\n

The celebration went deep into the night as North Beach partygoers insisted on multiple encores, culminating in a rousing version of Montrose\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s staple \u00e2\u20ac\u0153 Bad Motor Scooter\u00e2\u20ac\u009d – \u00e2\u20ac\u0153 I don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t know how they do it \u00e2\u20ac\u0153 mused long time fan Patricia Miller, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153 They just keep getting better sounding and looking, like they all made a deal with the dark side\u00e2\u20ac\u009d. <\/p>\n

The Butlers are currently lining up more local appearances.. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153We live to rock \u00e2\u20ac\u0153smiled guitarist Behrhorst \u00e2\u20ac\u0153and rock we will \u00e2\u20ac\u0153 \u00e2\u20ac\u0153 I am a diehard fan of both Ruffians and Jetboy \u00e2\u20ac\u0153 said patron Sheila Gorn as she toasted with friends, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153 Nobody gives service like the Butlers\u00e2\u20ac\u009d – <\/p>\n
