Ingredients<\/h3>\n

  • 12 ounces wide egg noodles<\/li>\n
  • 1 Tbsp salt<\/li>\n
  • 8 ounces sliced fresh mushrooms<\/li>\n
  • 1 medium onion, chopped<\/li>\n
  • 2 Tbsp butter<\/li>\n
  • 2 cups chopped broccoli (about 1\/2 lb)<\/li>\n
  • 2 (6-ounce) cans tuna, drained<\/li>\n
  • 1 (10 3\/4 oz)can\u00a0 cream of mushroom soup<\/li>\n
  • 1 lb grated cheddar cheese<\/li>\n
  • 1\/3 cup milk<\/li>\n
  • 1 Tbsp cream<\/li>\n
  • Salt and pepper to taste<\/li>\n
  • 1 cup crushed saltine crackers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n

    Instructions<\/h3>\n

    1<\/strong>
    \nPreheat oven to 400\u00b0F. In a large (6 qt) pot, bring 4 quarts of water
    \nto a boil. Add a tablespoon of salt. Return to a boil. Add noodles.
    \nCook uncovered on high heat on a rolling boil. Just before pasta is al
    \ndente, (firm but cooked through, earliest cooking time minus 2
    \nminutes), add the chopped broccoli to the pasta and cook for 2 more
    \nminutes. Drain in a colander and set aside.<\/p>\n

    2<\/strong> While the pasta is cooking, dry saut\u00e9 the mushrooms in a
    \nfrying pan on medium high heat (no need to add butter or oil, mushrooms
    \nwill cook in their own juice). When mushrooms have given up their
    \nmoisture (about 10 minutes), remove from heat and set aside.<\/p>\n

    3<\/strong> After the pasta is done and is draining in a colander, heat
    \na large oven-proof pan on medium heat, add 2 tablespoons of butter. Add
    \nthe onions and cook them until translucent. Add the pasta and broccoli
    \nmixture back into the pot; stir in the mushrooms. Stir in the tuna, can
    \nof cream of mushroom soup, grated cheese, milk and cream. Add salt and
    \npepper to taste.<\/p>\n

    4<\/strong> Spread crushed saltines over the top of the mixture and
    \ncook for 20 minutes at 400\u00b0F in the oven, until the topping has browned.<\/p>\n
