  1. Yo Michael… Patrice here… As you know, I love your show – even though not all the music you play is exactly my cup of tea. Aerosmith, e.g., I think suck big time… They usually make me laugh… But hey: luckily everybody’s got their own taste… 🙂 The great(est) thing about your show is just how much you are into the bands and how you are not afraid to express it. Big thumbs up for that. You are such a fan – and I know what that feels like…

I’m working on a podcast, too (to “give the world” some of my fave stuff) – will let you know when the first few episodes are up.

    Patrice

  2. This was another awesome episode!

    Re: Introducing listeners to music:

I hope it’s just as satisfying for you to play this stuff as it is exciting for us to discover new music. I played “This is Only a Problem” five millions times since you first played it and I waiting impatiently for the CD to arrive. I can’t even remember the last time I was so excited about getting a CD.

So, as always, thank you, Michael.

    One other thing:

I was doing some research a couple of days ago and I came across a mention of the band Dr. Hook. I thought of you. While they weren’t exactly in the same realm as Aerosmith, they were pretty big in the 70’s. What do you think of Dr. Hook? Did you listen to them back then?

  3. Hey Wendy,

    Thanks for making my day!
I know of Dr. Hook but I never really listened to them. The music I listened to was every thing from Creem and Circus Magazine. That is where I found all of my bands.

So do you like the other Ginger songs I have played?

  4. I have to say, I like them, but none of the others has really grabbed my attention like “This is…” did. So far, I’ve had to go back and listen to the others a few times before they grew on me.

I remember the first time you played “29 x the Pain”. Again, it was one of those songs that, after hearing it only once, I was hooked. Every time you play a Ginger song, I feel this build up of anticipation–hoping this will be another addictive song.

I think playing one song at a time has proven to be a brilliant idea.

  5. Cracking show Michael,

To open with the 2nd live band to come out of the UK in the last 10 years (3 Colours Red) has really made my day! Thanks

Incidentally the best live band to come out of the UK has to be Terrorvision (their records told you nothing really about just how brilliant they were live, and why I went to see them 12 times in total over the years!)

I’m starting to spot a bit of a pattern forming here, 3CR, Ginger, Wildhearts, what next? The Quireboys? yes there is a link there…..

Once again thanks Michael for a great podcast

  6. Michael,

great show as usual. Liked the Joan Jet and Springsteen bit, plus of course Ginger. Gotta do like the dude you mention and get the cd too. Was trying to find the link for the Jet and Springsteen, but didn’t have any luck. Can you post the link?

By the way, what happened to show 138?
