  1. That was great. Some of my favorite shows have been the ones you call trainwrecks. I even liked the episode you removed with your old drummer. Funny stuff. Oh, Rachel Ray is pretty hot.

Who was it at the beginning that you were trying to get an id from. I thought I heard margot kidder? Was I just hearing things?

  2. heheee, Michael, you recorded all the most important traits of a successful groupie at any live gig…. creative-blending within the crowd, efficient forward-movement, alertness of situation, awareness of immediate environment, good timing, sweet-interaction/feigned-innocence with bouncers/promo team, cute petite stature, gorgeous hair and unrelenting determination. not only do i admire ya, i’m proud of ya…. demonstrates that it’s not necessary to be female to be a great groupie 😀 😀

also, good to know that you still listen to and care about your listeners’ reactions to and feelings about The RnRGS…
“selling-out” doesn’t have to mean that you lose touch with yourself nor your listener/fan base. it’s all still cool, dude.

*insert show ID and go to fade out…. “this is donna, longtime listener and critiquer, and i’m still listening to The Rock and Roll Geek Show and digging it…. and i luuuuv Michael Butler”*

    🙂

  3. Hey Wendy and Donna,

Thanks for the comments and encouragement. I love you both.

Joe, yes that was Margot Kidder.

  4. Like I’ve always said I think the show and the music have always Rocked! As for selling out your never gonna make everyone happy! You’ve gotta pay the bills somehow? So screw those who complain! Just keep the COOL shows and KILLER music coming!

  5. Great work with getting the ID. It’s good to hear that you are trying to get people outside of the rock world to do IDs too.

As for the show changing since you went pro, the only way I feel that the show has changed is we don’t get to hear you ponder how your rent will get paid each month. I don’t miss hearing that at all.

    Take care.

  6. Guts and determination… Margot kidder’s ability to avoid giving MB an ID for the show. Good to see Margot healthy and working.

If that show was a train wreck I want to hear another ten episodes like that.

If MB had another ten seconds with RR at the book signing he would have invited her over for dinner with the family. Maybe at her next book signing!

    Keep Rockin’

  7. Another great show. The Rachel Ray thing was extremely entertaining. I bought Joan’s Naked album tonight and really like it. I wouldn’t have known it was available if it wasn’t for the Rock and Roll Geek Show. I hope the record labels are paying attention. Your show is turning a lot of people on to a lot of great albums. Keep it up.

  8. Great show, loved the story! How can you call this a trainwreck?! I was so surprised you got the ID, good job on keeping that a secret before we heard the story!

  9. Yo Michael! After all the different podcasts I’ve been checking out, I got to say: yours is one of the few that is worth my time, and always a laugh! The Dinner With Starz & the Nazareth interview were fantastic! Keep on rockin’!!! patRice

  10. Michael,

Another excellent show. Your heart and soul is in these and it is just one of the reasons why I listen and continue to listen.

Keep up the great work and I’m glad you liked the book and cups.

Great meeting you at the PME and look forward tom more RnRGS!!!
