Rock and Roll Geek Show 107

August 29, 2005

On this show I interview songwriter Jim Vallance. This interview took place about 3 weeks ago. I have about 5 more interviews recorded. Before I start the interview, I attempt to clear up something Dave Slusher said on his most recent show. I don’t know if I cleared it up well or not but I said what was on my mind at the time. That is why I love doing my show. Because I can say shit that is on my mind.

Here is the link to Jim Vallance’s web site. LINK

Obituary: Dr Robert Moog

Dr Robert Moog, the inventor of the electronic synthesiser, has died of brain cancer aged 71His synthesiser, which bears his name, revolutionised music from the 1960s onwards, and was used by bands like the Beatles and the Doors.
Today, the electronic manipulation of sound is a ubiquitous feature of popular music. This was not always the case, and Moog was one of the pivotal pioneers of synthesised sound. His instruments transformed pop music during that most revolutionary and experimental of times, the 1960s.Born in the New York City suburb of Queens in 1934, Robert Moog – the name rhymes with “vogue” – became fascinated with electronics as a child.
