Ramona and Beezus Starring Selena Gomez

I am so excited and anxious for the Ramona and Beezus film to finally hit theaters. I was a huge fan of the Beverly Cleary books when I was little so I will love seeing the stories come to life. My friend and I are also huge Selena Gomez fans. Even as a 19 year old, Wizards of Waverly Place is one of my favorite shows and I love Selena’s music. Selena is a great actress and I think she is a great choice to play Beezus. My only question is, why the director felt the need to change the name of the movie. The book was originally called Beezus and Ramona, not the other way around. I am assuming the focus is more on Joey King’s character, Ramona, but as I recall the book was more focused on Beezus. This is an interesting director choice that I am curious about.

Katy Perry Premieres “California Gurls” Music Video

Today Katy Perry premiered her much anticipated music video for her new single “California Gurls” on MTV. The music video is filled with sweets in a Candyland theme. I think the concept is super cute, but doesn’t fit with the song very well. I love this song and I wanted Katy Perry to be playing on the beach and sitting under palm trees– CALIFORNIA STYLE! I suppose with this candy-theme the video is less predictable but I think she could have played off the sunny-beach-themed song much better. Nevertheless, Katy looks absolutely beautiful and the costumes are amazing. Katy always brings a little humor to everything she does, so the whipped cream can spraying from her boobs made me giggle– coming from anyone else I probably would have thought this was disgusting. I can’t wait for her new album “Teenage Dream,” which is set to release August 24th, 2010.

First Look at Jesse McCartney’s New Album

For the first time, we finally hear something official from Jesse McCartney’s new album. On Sunday, June 13th, Jesse played the new song “Seasons Will Change” and the A Time For Heroes charity picnic in Los Angeles, CA. Fans are buzzing all over Twitter about the new song, debating whether or not it will be the new single. Last week, Jesse went on the radio discussing not only the ATFH event, but his new album (to hear the broadcast click here). He announced that a new single would be out this summer, with hopes of a fourth studio album this fall. “Seasons Will Change” is the first “official” song we’ve heard from Jesse this year, so I am assuming it will be the new single. The song is very Motown-esque and Jesse’s voice is showcased tremendously in it. It has a very laid back, summertime feel to it, which is another hint to me that it will be the next single.

However, in late January, a song leaked on the Internet called “Tonight is Your Night” that fans, including myself, are going crazy for. I secretly hope this will be the new single because I would love to see a video for it, but I would also love to hear something new.

Miley Cyrus is Growing Boobs!

Jackie and I did a review of the new Miley Cyrus Can’t Be Tamed music video on the latest edition of Music Video Reform School. I love Miley but boy her boobs have grown a lot since I saw her great performance last year in San Jose!
